Saturday mornings in June.
Heaven sent.
I didn't have any weddings from mid May-mid July.
And I really limited my family photos shoots.
I took a good two months off to try and catch up, and just enjoy some time with my family.
Enjoy summer.
Sleep in (not really but pretend to), go get bagels and chocolate milk, walk down to the beach.
Go to carnivals, fairs, yoga, date nights, bike rides...
It was what I needed and I feel rejuvenated and ready to photograph again.
It was the calm before my wedding 'storm'
But now I'm ready. Ready for lots of them in the next couple of months.
Excited too.
But I've realized that life is balance. And in order to be happy I can't be too busy.
And I have been guilty of that way too many times.
And I never want to be too busy that I don't have time for the essentials.
Family.
Ben.
Ella.
That's where my focus is. And always will be.
I think it makes me a better photographer too.
This was one early Saturday morning that I burned into my memory this past June.
We woke up super early (because that's how ella rolls).
And walked down to the beach. It was chilly.
And we watched her dig around in the sand and eat seaweed.
These are some photos I snapped before we left.
Probably my favorites.

Angel Ella! I'm glad you've had a rejuvenating summer--you sure earned it!
