I'm attached.
I am not looking forward to having to leave her behind in a month.
I miss her when I leave every night, and seeing her little handprint perfectly centered on my window kills me.
I can't imagine having kids of my own one day...
I love how she calls me her panda, how she starts laughing hysterically every morning when she sees me, how she runs to me and says goudi goudi (hold me).
I love teaching her new things, hearing new words, seeing new skills.
She is the sweetest, smartest, little one.
She is my little buddy...
my "bini baby".
Equally loved are her grandparents.
I spend so much time with them, they are the closest thing to family while I've been out here.
Last night ben and I were heading over to their house for dinner...
as we drove through maryland we knew something was up.
It honestly looked like a tornado had hit (only 20 min away from us).
When we pulled up to their house I could NOT BELIEVE what we saw.
Trees EVERYWHERE had fallen, crushing homes.
I was so happy, so happy to walk in their home and find them safe and sound.
Sabiha just looked at me and said..."a tornado hit" and started laughing hysterically.
Don't worry, they STILL had us over for dinner.
It was actually hilarious, we ate dinner outside (no electricity obviously, actually there are 100,000 people still without electricity...could be 3 days).
After the feast of a dinner we walked around, intrigued as ever as they showed us all their treasures from pakistan with a flashlight.
We laughed and
laughed
and laughed.
It was such an adventurous night,
eating ice cream in the dark with shattered window above you isn't something you do every day, but a memory I won't ever forget.
Tonight we are looking forward to spending some more time with them...
but this time helping with clean up :)
I'm sure tonight will be filled with more laughs...it's usually the way it goes :)
I'm so glad they are ok.
I love my pakistani family.
This is one of the trees that could have landed on their home...so huge!! Luckily the wind was blowing in the opp direction of their home.
