Winter
So technically this was my first full winter in utah since having my babies.
We moved back like february 28th or something like that last year so I felt like I experienced winter but turns out i didn't. I remember winter...but its so different with kids. Or maybe so different after being spoiled with perfect weather for 4 years.
To be completely honest it was hard. I realized its hard for a lot of people. Just so cold, lots of sickness, and the inversion. Someone was literally sick in our family the entire month of January. Or everyone...at the same time. We are also the 4th of 74 homes to go in. SO...it doesn't really feel like a community or neighborhood quite yet either. I realize it's okay to go through these periods of hybernation and hardship. Because spring will come.
On the flip side. It was really fun to get out and do the wintery things from time to time. Ellas first ski day!! Ice castles (Elsas house...sooo exciting for ella). Come home drink hot cocoa and watch the snow fall. At one point we got so tired of the cold I drove my kids down to vegas on my own and met Ben for one of his business conferences. It was an 8 day trip for him so we decided it would be worth it to go down. Turns out my kids got sick again. Ella had a temp of 104 on and off the entire time. So swimming and all that we had planned on didnt happen. There was A LOT of "clean up" from both of my kids, and in vegas...in a hotel. We stayed an extra day when the kiddos started feeling a bit better so we could do all the vegas-y things.
SO i just wrote about horrible the winter seemed and then I went through these photos and I realized it probably wasn't as horrible as I say...haha. or maybe it was but these photos convince me otherwise. that's why I do this you guys. It keeps me grateful. Photos have always done that for me. Just looking at small moments forever captured. It really helps you realize what a beautiful life it is.
