Ben had a week off after he quit is old job, and before he started the new one.
So in like 5 hours we decided to hurry and go to Hawaii on a whim with the Capeners.
And then we were off to ALOHA!
Partyyyyy.
It was super fun and kinda super crazy too.
I think we both realized that next time babies might not be allowed.
Or babies allowed but we just pick a week without cancelled flights and sunny weather (wink)
Hawaii is hawaii regardless of downpours and crazy winds and missed flights. And will always be probably my most favorite place ever, ever, ever. I am so obsessed and loved that I got to learn to surf with the tiger sharks...(that one is for you elise :) ) It was so fun to be able to go with our friends too (who Ben and I have decided are really more like family). Surf, Sand, Snow Cones, Mountains, Green, Blue, Sunrise, Sunsets, Friends, Lunch Plates, Pineapple Whips, Cliff Jumping, Vans, Babies, Snorkeling, Tiger Sharks, Hikes, Honolulu, "shresh catch" (I just laughed out loud), running through rain, markets, food trucks, shrimp, thai, teds bakery, pipe, waterfall jumping, and time together as a family. Hawaii we heart your perfect white sandy beaches, aqua blue waters, and green mountains. We just really, really do.
Two memories really stick out to me from this trip. The first is waking up the first day and watching the sun rise over the ocean with my two loves...I was totally and completely happy in that moment. And two, hiking through the jungle. I have always been a mountain girl. It's where I find my solace. My 'zen'. I feel at home in those things called mountains. And something about forgetting all technology and just being at one with nature, barefoot, and muddy. Talking with my family and being still is all I needed. Ben and I took some time to analyze life, where we are, and where we want to be. And found ourselves being a little more grateful for all we had.
Thanks HI
See you soon.
And that's a promise.
OH! And check out ella's hi hi hi wave.
That wave is a trademark for that girl.
She waves to anyone who will take it.
All day long.
It's our favorite.
