I always thought that after you got married the big decision game was suppossed to kind of end.
But trying to decide what route Ben and I should take after we graduated proved to be a toughy.
We went back and forth with a lot of different plans for our future, and what would be best for us. We made lists of our priorities, and what really mattered to us. Family, Faith, and Friends.
Yes, that's what we care about most.
Faith we have with us always, wherever we are, which is one of the BIGGEST blessings we could ever ask for. This proved to be incredibly poignent on our last adventure to DC.
Friends. It's hard to say bye to such good, good, friends. But nearly half of them have shown us how it's done and have scattered themselves all over the US already...and they are still okay. Right guys?! And we still see them, and get to visit them, which is sometimes even better. wink wink. Come visit us!! And there is another upside, the new friends you get to make, we like that. As a matter of fact, we really like that.
And then there is family.
Uh, if only we could put them in our pockets and bring them all with us.
Ben and I are family people. We are a big fan of that whole concept. Between the two of us we have quite the group. I mean really, there is NOTHING I have to compain about. Nothing. We just love them. And I think that family is more important than anything. I do. So what do we do about that one? Take a chance on this job in California and work on building are own family and hopefully provide some oppurtunity for the future? Or stick around here, where there just isn't as much oppurtunity as of right now, but atleast we have family? Trust me, we thought long and hard. It's a tricky one.
But, we outweighed the pros and cons and decided it would be best for us to move. If the plan works, hopefully we will be there for 2 or 3 years and be able to move back when we start having a family of our own.
So, OC here we come!
We are excited, scared, thrilled, and nervous all in the same breathe.
But it is for the best.
And...
According to google maps it's 11 hours and 19 min from door to door.
1 hour and 30 min flight.
Not to shabby??
And...
Who doesn't want a cheap trip to California? It's 75 right now.

This is really exciting news! Congrats and you guys will make the best of it, you always do where ever you are :)
ReplyDeleteYAY YAY YAY!!!! I checked your blog earlier today when Kyle told me! I am so excited, and yes the weather here will trump almost all the cons of living away. We went swimming and got sunburned and it's January! It's so great! So..the family though, that's definitely the hardest part, but lucky for both of our cities, they are very fun to come and visit! Anytime you are feeling Utah just call me and we'll carpool! We really are excited to be somewhat close, Sunday dinners and sleepovers here we come!
