I have been inspired in so many ways.
I've learned things I never knew before.
I've had chills, the good kind, the kind where something hits you so powerfully that it affects not only your mind but your spirit as well...
And why?
Because of school
Because of photographs that a classmate took that moved me to tears, that made me grateful, that made happy to be alive.
Because of a paper I read that spoke so many truths.
Because of an artist statement that spoke of the majesty of God.
Because of my ability to be a part of a dance that is artistically genius.
Because of a song played on the piano in the Wilkinson center.
Because of the knowledge I gained that I didn't have only yesterday.
There have been many days where the only thing I could think about was graduating.
And then there are other days when all I can think about is somehow slowing down time to delay my graduation.
Funny the way life is.
But I can't imagine not learning, growing, and discovering so many things that a college atmosphere provides for me five days a week.
It's all I've known for so many years now.
So I guess why I'm writing is to express my gratitude for the many experiences that I've been able to have because of my college education.
And as this chapter of my life is nearing an end,
I feel like it is my duty to express my thanks to my parents, my husband, and mostly my Father in Heaven for allowing me to attend this wonderful university.
For the opportunity I had to learn so many things, to have so many wonderful experiences, and for discovering not only myself but the world around me.
I love this post and I really love you. It really is amazing how we can learn and grow and become someone new every day. :)
ReplyDeleteWow--You really captured a lot of the feelings I had at BYU that I thought weren't capture-able in words. I miss that school. Congrats on graduating though! You've done amazing things in your college career. Thanks for this post Manda!
