To be happy that it happened,
not sad that it's over...
Easier said than done sometimes.
Goodbyes are ALWAYS the worst.
I was sad to leave my Pakistani family...really sad.
I became so close to them in such a short amount of time.
I learned so much from them, and left feeling like a much better person.
It's one of those things where you just know you were where you were supposed to be and learned what you needed to learn...
They were such a blessing in my life, and will continue to be.
My parting gift(s),
they are so good to me.
A prayer mat and scarf from Pakistan, a panda (because my bini baby called me her panda), D.C. book, novel (she had noticed my 3 cups of tea book so gave me another book that's similar), beautiful painting (by Sabiha) of a mosque in Pakistan, banana chocolate chip bread (she knew this was our FAVORITE so be sure to make us some for the trip home), and tons of other food...obviously :).
After saying our goodbyes to the city and people that we have grown to love so much we headed over to Kentucky where we saw Churchill Downs and Big Boys.
After KC we stopped in Kansas City to visit the Sloans. They showed us to a true midwest BBQ and a 'redneck' firework show.

Looks like fun! I notice there are a lack of pictures of YOU-- but such is a photographers life. Missing you girl!
